Brocory
Posted: September 29, 2003 Filed under: Personal Updates Leave a comment »Before I forget… We went out for Sushi last night. I ordered veggie tempura with no onions or broccoli. Our kind and helpful asian waitress said to confirm “no broccoli?” But, she said “no brocory?”…as many asians might. We thought that was funny but not nearly as funny as when the check came and it had “NO BROCORY” written on it. No joke. Maybe you had to be there but that was one of the funniest things ever. Something else funny/odd. I started flipping through that book by Mark Joseph and discovered that I am quoted in there like 3 times! Nuts!
Reefer Madness
Posted: September 29, 2003 Filed under: Personal Updates Leave a comment »P.S. I finished the new Eric Schlosser book “Reefer Madness” today. It was excellent! I loved his first book “Fast Food Nation” and was eager to read this one as well. It did not dissapoint. I am looking forward to his next book which will tackle the US prison system. Oh…and I also picked up the new Mark Joseph book “Faith, God & Rock N Roll”. No more shopping for me. My 2 CD, 1 book quota is up for the month.

We went to Huntington Beach for a little while to eat and watch the surfers and bodyboarders. There were SO many. Like 5+ people trying to catch each wave. It was ridiculous. Had a nice lunch at Ruby’s on the pier (a favorite…i always get the mushroom burger with a veggie burger patty…good stuff).
Picked up the new Fire Theft CD (ex. Sunny Day Real Estate) today. I really like it. I also got the new Pretty Girls Make Graves. I was dissapointed by this CD. Not what I was expecting at all. To many wacky keyboards and not enough rock. Bummer.
This Friday we are going to the Knotts Berry Farm Halloween Haunt. That should be fun. Well, I guess that’s about it. Adios kids.
A Murder In The Neighborhood?
Posted: September 26, 2003 Filed under: Personal Updates Leave a comment »Well…things sure are getting interesting. I left the house earlier to see police tape, police photographers, agents, onlookers and a body covered in a sheet across the street. Then, just as I came down, two cops ran to their cars and sped off down the street. I don’t know if this person died of natural causes. But it sure didn’t look like it. Kind of unnerving. In politics…am I the only person who gets sick to their stomach every time they mention 80 billion + more to Iraq? I don’t know if you know this…but a lot of that money is going to rebuilding their country. I don’t mean to be callous…but what about this country? I hope that whoever we elect as our next president takes a greater interest in the needs of the people of the united states. I’m all for helping people…but we NEED help. We have a record deficit…high unemployment…a recession, etc. We can’t afford to go around blowing up and rebuilding any more countries. Sorry if I’ve upset anybody by saying this…but I can’t contain myself. Also…we had 3 tornados touch down in north Jersey right after Isabel. Nuts. I’m getting ready to go visit Ronee in California for a week. I can’t wait. We’ll be celebrating our 3rd anniversary. Hard to believe, but true. Finally…I’m dying to know. DOES ANYBODY GIVE TWO CRAPS WHAT HAPPENS TO BEN AND J-LO? I sure don’t. And I’d appreciate it if we could all just put the media on notice that we really could care less. If Ben turns her over and uses her ass for a raft and they sail off the edge of the earth it will not be soon enough for me. Alrighty then…I think I got everything off my chest. OH! I saw Underworld the other day. It got like 2 stars but I LOVED it. A great, great fun action/horror movie.
Happy Birthday, Bruce

Safe And Sound
Posted: September 19, 2003 Filed under: Personal Updates Leave a comment »I’m in north Jersey at Ronee’s house…safe and sound. It was so windy last night and pouring rain. There are still 400,000 people without power in North Carolina. The footage is amazing. I’m thankful I was spared from the worst of this storm. A little close for comfort. Heading back down to the shore tomorrow.
Windy
