2011, The One That Got Away

I’m beyond overdue for a post and the curtain call for 2011 is happening any moment now. So, why not a quick list off the top of my head with some highlights from the year? Here’s the standouts, in no particular order.

♣ U2 at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ A fantastic trip to Chicago.

♣ Went on an entirely too short trip, for the first time, to New Orleans, Louisiana.

♣ Finished up 6 years at Zambooie.com.

♣ Began a new job at Moontoast who shortly after I began was named #2 in the “Top 10 Music Start-Ups Of 2011” by Billboard Magazine.

♣ Flogging Molly at War Memorial in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Great trip with amazing food to Asheville, North Carolina. Biltmore mansion tour was awesome.

♣ Getting crunk at the Franklin, TN St. Patrick’s Brew Fest.

♣ Brad & Sara finally got hitched! So did Mark & Lena, Dylan & Sandy, Bryan & Katie, Catherine & Johnson and Linda & Jim. Wow, WEDDINGS!

♣ Jimmy Eat World at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Got glasses at 42 for the first time in my life from Warby Parker.

♣ F@#ked Up at Exit In in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Purchased an iPad and an iPhone 4S.

♣ Rival Schools at Exit Inn in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Saw one of my favorite comedians, Bill Burr perform his comedy at Zanie’s in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Sold my scooter, Ronee got a Smart Car and I inherited a Toyota Yaris. After a year on my bike and the bus it was back to car commuting.

♣ I launched my own bike oriented clothing and gear company, Ride Above.

♣ Moved most of our possessions to New Jersey and put our house up for sale.

♣ OFF! at Exit Inn in Nashville, Tennessee.

♣ Joey’s House Of Pizza.

♣ Bought tickets for Dropkick Murphys March 2012 Nashville show.

♣ Visited the 9/11 Memorial in NYC.

♣ Ate at Les Halles, made famous by Anthony Bourdain, in NYC.

Here comes 2012! With the new job and imminent move back to New Jersey, it’s sure to be another doozie.
